2 PLACES AT ONCE

2 PLACES AT ONCE

2 Places at Once is my first completed project using motion capture. With the Rokoko motion capture suit, I was able to bring my love of dance into my visual art practice, recording myself and then duplicating the motion onto these mannequins in Unreal Engine.
I was working alongside Mark Levinson, who produced the original music for this project, so that the audio and visual could develop together.

I exhibited this work as an installation in 2025 at the School of Visual Arts Flatiron Gallery, projecting the work through an acrylic cube filled with water onto a wall and, at sundown, a dark window, capitalizing on the early November sunset in New York. With these projection surfaces, the video is distorted and reflected onto the floor and the wall behind it, bringing the viewer into the middle of the work.
